Cooking, Herbalism and Gardening

Engaging with our senses, the elements, and the land that feeds us, in conversation with each other.

Some topics I cover in a garden, farm, or kitchen setting:

  • Cooking as Care:

    • Recipes and home cooking methods that highlight food as medicine, such as soups, broths, ideas for weekly meal prep and slow cooking for nourishment, restoration and healing.

  • Herbal Care:

    • A hands on sensory experience with introductory teachings from aromatic and medicinal plants. In this workshop we focus on herbs that are Indigenous to the North African and South Asian trade routes they have since traveled, plants which are also popular in western herbalism. We also engage in how we may collaborate with herbs to care for the land we are on.

  • Moroccan Cooking:

    • Cooking class Moroccan style. Spices, market ingredients, and zero recipes, guided by seasonality, alchemy and intuition.

  • Cooking from the Garden or CSA (Community Supported Agriculture):

    • Kitchen garden tips, ideas for bumper crops, processing lessons and seasonal home cooking with regional ingredients.

  • Cooking and Gardening with the Youth:

    • Kid friendly workshops informed by direct experience in school gardens, with ideas for teaching kids about nutrition, relationships, land and culture through food.
